Serial Number: 6650, Engine Number: 6992

The Buick Model 35 is a three-door touring car, all featuring a 165cid/22.5hp inline OHV four-cylinder engine, threespeed
sliding-gear manual transmission, solid front axle with semi-elliptic leaf springs, live rear axle with full-elliptic
leaf springs, two-wheel external contracting mechanical brakes, and a wheelbase of 101.75-inches. Standard color
for the touring was dark blue with grey wheels, but other colors could be special ordered. This car has been painted
“Buick Brown,” which looks like muted orange. Other features of this car include Corcoran brass headlights and
taillight, E&J cowl lamps, black canvas top, a full set of side curtains, black tufted leather upholstery, bulb horn, and
naturally finished wood spoke wheels with 34x3 black tires.

The car was purchased by the family in 1959 in very rough shape. Its extensive restoration was almost finished around
1999, but it still needed to be finished mechanically. The intent was to have the car restored so that it would be a reliable
tour car. By 2020, the Buick was finally completed to the point where it would run, but it has never been driven on a
tour. We were unable to drive the car due to having sat for a couple years. However, shortly after we inspected it, it
was taken to a specialist, who had it up and running in time to be shown at the Cincinnati Concours the following
weekend. It now starts readily, idles smoothly, does not smoke, and performs as it should. We were informed that the
magneto needs repairing, but it ran perfectly on the battery. This car has been exceptionally well sorted, but it needs
to be road tested and driven some more before it can be safely said that it is a reliable tour car.

The physical condition of this car is impressive. Its restoration was done to high standards, but as mentioned, the focus
of the restoration, as much as anything, was geared toward being an outstanding and reliable tour car. After three years,
it still presents itself very well, although we noted several paint chips and scrapes around the wheel rims, and around
hood hinges.
